What about calibration?
Omron blood pressure monitors cannot be self-calibrated by the user. Omron states that their blood pressure monitors do not require calibration, but they recommend having the device inspected for accuracy every 2 years
Why does it say on the box not to use if you have a pacemaker or defibrillator implant?
The warning on the Omron BP7465 10 Series Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor box is included as a safety precaution. This model contains electronic components and Bluetooth technology that generate small electromagnetic fields, and the manufacturer advises against use in individuals with implanted pacemakers or defibrillators due to the theoretical risk of interference. While upper arm blood pressure monitors generally do not interfere with implanted cardiac devices, Omron takes a conservative approach to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance. If you have a pacemaker or implantable defibrillator, we recommend speaking with your cardiologist or the device manufacturer before using this monitor to confirm it is appropriate for your specific situation.
I am not sure if my Omron is working properly. It has erratic numbers and ends with E or Afib…have not used it in months… my BP is usually 128/75.

Omron blood pressure monitors do not require routine calibration, but accuracy depends heavily on cuff size, placement, posture, and comparison with a medical-grade device. If those are correct and readings still don’t match, the device may need professional evaluation or replacement as a consumer cannot calibrate the machine themselves.

The OMRON BP7465 automatically stores up to 200 readings (100 for each of two users) in the device's memory, with the oldest readings being deleted when the memory is full. To store all readings, connect the monitor to the OMRON connect app via Bluetooth to wirelessly sync and save them for unlimited storage, trend tracking, and sharing with a doctor.
