Garmin Xero® C2 Ballistic Chronograph
Compact Doppler radar chronograph measuring 100–5,000 fps with rapid-fire tracking (up to 10 shots/sec), Garmin smartwatch integration, Applied Ballistics AB Comms, resume session, rifle-mountable reinforced housing, IPX7 water resistance, USB-C. $699.99.
Our Take: The Xero C2 is the second generation of Garmin’s Doppler radar chronograph, and the upgrades target the specific pain points shooters had with the C1 Pro. The headline feature is the faster processor: it tracks up to 10 shots per second, which means you can finally shoot rapid-fire strings and capture every round. The C1 Pro could not do this. If you shoot PRS-style stages, semi-auto load development, or just want every shot logged without slowing down, this matters. Smartwatch integration is the second major addition. Pair the C2 with a compatible Garmin watch (tactix, fēnix, Enduro series) and you can start sessions, view live velocity data, and import muzzle velocity into the Applied Ballistics solver — all from your wrist without breaking position. The AB Comms connection transfers real velocity data directly into the ballistic solver for accurate long-range solutions. Resume session lets you switch between firearms mid-trip without losing organized data. The C2 keeps each profile separate, so you can cool one barrel while collecting data on another and then pick up right where you left off. Physically, the C2 shares the same compact pocket-size form factor as the C1 Pro, but the housing is reinforced and officially rated for direct rifle mounting. The protective cover is now included in the box instead of sold separately. Same 6-hour / 2,000-shot battery, same IPX7 rating, same 100–5,000 fps range, same simple setup: turn it on, point it downrange, shoot. At $699.99 versus the C1 Pro’s original $599.99 MSRP, the C2 costs $100 more for the faster processor, smartwatch integration, AB Comms, resume session, rifle mounting, and the included protective cover. If you’re buying new, the C2 is the clear choice. If you already own a C1 Pro and don’t need rapid-fire tracking or smartwatch control, your C1 Pro still works well for single-shot velocity measurement.
Why you’d choose the Xero C2
- The C2’s upgraded processor tracks up to 10 shots per second, depending on projectile velocity. This enables reliable data capture during rapid-fire strings — a capability the C1 Pro did not have. Every shot is recorded without slowing your rate of fire.
- Pair with a compatible Garmin smartwatch to control the chronograph, view live session data, and import muzzle velocity directly into the onboard Applied Ballistics solver — all from your wrist. Stay in your shooting position while managing your data.
- Connect to the Applied Ballistics ecosystem via AB Comms to transfer muzzle velocity directly into the AB Quantum app on your smartwatch or phone. Pull real velocity data into your ballistic solver for accurate long-range shooting solutions.
- Pause a session, switch to a different rifle or load, and resume later with data staying organized under the correct profile. Test multiple firearms during one range trip without mixing your velocity data.
- Measures any projectile from 100 fps to 5,000 fps: bullets, arrows, crossbow bolts, slugs, birdshot, paintballs, airsoft BBs, and pellets. Works with suppressed firearms and those with muzzle brakes or compensators. No attachment to the firearm required.
- Reinforced design withstands recoil when mounted directly to your rifle for consistent positioning during load development. Also includes a 1/4-20 thread tripod mount for table, ground, or bench placement. IPX7 water-resistant for use in all conditions.
- Pair with the ShotView smartphone app to record results, track deviation, calculate extreme spread and standard deviation, and manage sessions. The new configurations feature lets you organize projectile and load data for multiple firearms and bows.
- Rechargeable lithium-ion battery delivers up to 6 hours or 2,000 shots on a single charge. USB-C charging. Compact enough to fit in your pocket and sets up in seconds — turn it on, point it downrange, and shoot.

Xero C2 Chronograph — Frequently Asked Questions
What’s new in the Xero C2 compared to the Xero C1 Pro?
The C2 adds a significantly faster processor that tracks up to 10 shots per second for rapid-fire support (the C1 Pro cannot track rapid fire). It adds Garmin smartwatch integration so you can control the chronograph, view live session data, and import muzzle velocity into the Applied Ballistics solver from your wrist without leaving your shooting position. The C2 introduces a resume session feature that lets you pause a session, switch firearms, and continue collecting data under the correct profile. It connects directly to the Applied Ballistics ecosystem via AB Comms for seamless muzzle velocity transfer. The housing is reinforced and rated for direct rifle mounting to withstand recoil. It includes a protective cover in the box. The C2 uses USB-C for charging (same as C1 Pro) and maintains the same 6-hour / 2,000-shot battery life, IPX7 rating, and 100–5,000 fps measurement range.
Can the Xero C2 track rapid fire?
Yes. The C2’s faster processor supports rapid-fire tracking of up to 10 shots per second, depending on projectile velocity. This is a major upgrade from the C1 Pro, which could not reliably track rapid-fire strings. This matters for PRS competitors shooting fast strings, load development with semi-auto rifles, or anyone who wants every shot captured without slowing their rate of fire.
How does smartwatch integration work?
Pair the C2 with a compatible Garmin smartwatch (such as the tactix, fēnix, or Enduro series) to control the chronograph remotely, view live session data on your wrist, and send muzzle velocity directly into the Applied Ballistics solver on your watch or phone. This means you can start and monitor sessions without leaving your shooting position or pulling out your phone — particularly useful at a busy range or when shooting prone.
What is the resume session feature?
Resume session lets you pause your current chronograph session, switch to a different firearm (for example, while the first barrel cools), and then come back and continue collecting data under the original session profile. The C2 keeps data separate for each profile, so switching between rifles or testing multiple loads during one range trip doesn’t mix your data. This was not available on the C1 Pro.
What projectiles can the Xero C2 measure?
Bullets, arrows, crossbow bolts, slugs, birdshot, paintballs, airsoft BBs, and pellets — any projectile traveling between 100 fps and 5,000 fps. It works with suppressed firearms, firearms with muzzle brakes or compensators, and doesn’t require any attachment to the firearm. Setup is the same as the C1 Pro: turn it on, place it next to your firearm, point it downrange, and shoot.
Can I mount the Xero C2 directly to my rifle?
Yes. The C2 has a reinforced housing specifically designed to withstand recoil when mounted directly to your firearm. This is a design improvement over the C1 Pro. The C2 also includes a 1/4-20 thread tripod mount for table or ground placement. Most shooters use it both ways — mounted for consistency during load development, on its tripod legs for general range use.
What’s in the box?
The Xero C2 comes with: Xero C2 chronograph, protective cover, 1/4-20 thread tripod mount, USB-C charging/data cable, and documentation. The protective cover is included in the box with the C2 (it was sold separately for the C1 Pro).
Is the ShotView app compatible?
Yes. The C2 pairs with the ShotView smartphone app over Bluetooth for recording session results, comparing velocity shot-by-shot, tracking deviation, managing configurations, and more. New to the C2: the configurations feature lets you manage and track projectile and load data for multiple firearms and bows. If you have more than one Xero C2, you can start a session on one device and continue it on another through the ShotView app.
