Garmin vívomove® Trend Hybrid Smartwatch
The vívomove Trend is Garmin's hybrid smartwatch: a traditional analog watch with physical watch hands, a clean dial design, and a hidden touchscreen that activates beneath the watch face to display health data, notifications, and smart features. The 40mm stainless steel case and choice of silicone, leather, or mesh band make it suitable for both casual and professional settings. It delivers full Garmin health tracking (Body Battery, HRV Status, sleep staging, stress, Pulse Ox) and adds wireless Qi charging and Garmin Pay — rare features in this form factor.
Our Take: The vívomove Trend is for people who want a watch that looks like a watch but functions like a Garmin. The analog hands are real — they sweep and tell time normally. The hidden touchscreen activates when you need it. This is genuinely the best of both worlds if you're in an environment where a sport watch would feel out of place. The wireless charging is a nice touch; no fumbling for cables. The main limitation vs a full smartwatch: no GPS (connected only), no music storage, and 5-day battery. But for most office and social settings, this is the most versatile Garmin in the lineup.
Why you'd choose this model
- Real analog hands + hidden touchscreen — best of both The vívomove Trend has genuine mechanical watch hands that tell time normally alongside a hidden touchscreen display that activates for smart features. The most seamless hybrid design in wearables.

- Garmin Pay — contactless payments Tap to pay at any NFC contactless terminal. Works with major US banks.
- Stainless steel case — premium construction A 40mm stainless steel case and metal crown give the vívomove Trend a genuine watch feel that silicone-cased sport watches can't match.

- Multiple band options — dress or casual Choose from silicone, premium leather, or metal mesh bands. Switch to match the occasion.
- 5 ATM water resistance — pool safe Rated to 50 meters depth. Safe for pool swimming, showers, and water activities.

Who this watch is perfect for
- Professionals who want Garmin health data in a watch that suits office and formal settings without looking like a sport watch.
- Users who value analog watch aesthetics and want to keep that look while gaining smartwatch health features.
- Anyone who wants wireless charging convenience and Garmin Pay in a classic watch form factor.
- People who have been hesitant to adopt a smartwatch because of their appearance — the vívomove Trend looks like a traditional watch.
You may prefer a different Garmin if…
- You want built-in GPS for phone-free activity tracking — consider the vívoactive 6 or any Venu.
- You want music storage — not available on any vívomove model.
- You want more than 5 days of battery — the vívoactive 6 (11 days) and Venu 3 (14 days) last much longer.
- You want a color AMOLED display — the vívomove Trend's hidden LCD is functional but not vivid.

vívomove® Trend — Frequently Asked Questions
How does the hidden touchscreen work on the vívomove Trend?
The vívomove Trend has a standard LCD display hidden beneath the watch face. When you tap the watch or raise your wrist, the display activates and shows through the watch face design. The analog hands are motorized — when you need to see more data, the hands sweep to either side to reveal the full screen area. The effect is seamless in practice.
Does the vívomove Trend have wireless charging?
Yes — the vívomove Trend supports standard Qi wireless charging. Place it face-up on any Qi wireless pad to charge. It is one of only two Garmin watches with this feature, the other being the Venu X1. It also comes with a proprietary cable for wired charging.
How does the vívomove Trend compare to the vívomove Sport?
The vívomove Trend is the premium vívomove with a stainless steel case, wireless charging, Garmin Pay, and premium band options (leather and mesh). The vívomove Sport is the budget version with a polymer case, no wireless charging, and silicone bands only. Both have the analog-plus-touchscreen hybrid design and the same health features.
Does the vívomove Trend have built-in GPS?
No. The vívomove Trend uses connected GPS — it uses your smartphone's GPS signal to record routes during outdoor activities. If you want built-in GPS, the vívoactive 6 or Venu series are the options.
Does the vívomove Trend have Garmin Pay?
Yes. Garmin Pay is included on all vívomove Trend variants. Tap to pay at any NFC-enabled contactless terminal.
How long does the vívomove Trend battery last?
Up to 5 days in smartwatch mode. Wireless charging makes it convenient to keep it topped up — a quick 30 minutes on a Qi pad each evening will maintain charge without needing a full overnight charge cycle.
