The trade is 50 yards of reach and no image stabilization. For 95% of approach shots, neither matters.

How far can the Approach Z10 range?
Up to 350 yards to the pin, with ranged distances accurate to within one yard. The Z30 extends that to 400 yards and the Z82 to 450 yards if you regularly need to range beyond a driver.
Is the Approach Z10 legal for tournament play?
Yes. The Z10 has a tournament mode with an external indicator light so playing partners and officials can see the device is only providing conforming data. Always confirm the rules of your specific competition before teeing off.
Do I need a Garmin watch to use the Z10?
No. The Z10 works as a standalone laser rangefinder out of the box. Pairing it with a compatible Garmin golf watch, handheld or the Garmin Golf smartphone app unlocks Range Relay, front and back of green distances, dynamic distance and Find My Rangefinder.
What is Range Relay?
Range Relay pushes the distance you just lasered to your paired Garmin device, drawing a laser range arc on the course map so you can see every hazard and layup that sits at that same yardage.
What battery does the Approach Z10 use?
A single replaceable CR2 battery, included in the box, which delivers up to one year of play. There is nothing to recharge between rounds.
Does the Z10 need a Garmin Golf membership?
No. Every rangefinder feature works without a subscription. A Garmin Golf membership is optional and adds Green Contour Data and aerial course imagery inside the app.
