Remove the HRM module and toss the strap in the washing machine. Regular washing removes salt and sweat buildup that degrades electrode conductivity and causes erratic readings. Air dry — do not tumble dry or iron.

This strap fits all Garmin snap-on HRM modules:
- Garmin HRM 200 — current-generation chest strap HRM with ANT+, Bluetooth LE, secure connections, activity tracking, HRV, rechargeable battery (up to 2 months). Replaces the HRM-Dual.
- Garmin HRM 600 — advanced chest strap HRM with running dynamics, running pace/distance, step speed loss, ANT+, Bluetooth LE, rechargeable battery. Replaces the HRM-Pro Plus for snap-on users.
- Garmin HRM-Dual (discontinued) — dual ANT+ / Bluetooth LE transmission, CR2032 battery (up to 3.5 years). Still widely used. The HRM 200 is its direct replacement.
Not compatible with: HRM-Pro, HRM-Pro Plus, HRM-Tri, HRM-Run, or HRM-Swim — these use a different (non-snap) attachment method and require a different replacement strap.

Which Garmin HRM modules does this strap fit?
This strap fits all Garmin snap-on heart rate monitor modules: the HRM 200 (current generation), HRM 600 (advanced with running dynamics), and HRM-Dual (discontinued, CR2032 battery). These three modules share the same snap connector design. This strap does NOT fit the HRM-Pro, HRM-Pro Plus, HRM-Tri, HRM-Run, or HRM-Swim — those use a different non-snap attachment system.

Does this include the heart rate monitor module?

How do I know which size to order?
Wrap a tape measure around your chest just below your sternum (where the strap sits) while exhaling normally. XS-S fits 23.5″–33.5″ chest; M-XL fits 31.5″–47″ chest. If you're in the overlap zone (31.5″–33.5″), the M-XL gives more adjustment room.
Can I machine-wash this strap?
Yes. Remove the HRM module first, then machine wash on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Air dry — do not tumble dry, iron, or dry clean. Garmin recommends washing the strap regularly to remove salt and sweat that degrades electrode conductivity.
My heart rate readings are erratic. Will a new strap fix it?
In most cases, yes. The most common cause of erratic chest strap readings is degraded electrode pads — salt buildup and worn fabric reduce skin contact. Before ordering, try moistening the electrode pads with water or electrode gel before your workout. If readings are still inconsistent, a fresh strap almost always resolves the issue. If the new strap doesn't help, the module itself may need replacement.
Does this work with non-Garmin apps like Zwift or Peloton?
Yes — via the HRM module, not the strap itself. The HRM 200 and HRM-Dual transmit Bluetooth Low Energy, which pairs with Zwift, TrainerRoad, Peloton, Apple Health (through Garmin Connect), Strava, Wahoo, Suunto, Polar BLE devices, Concept2 rowers, and any smartphone app or gym equipment that reads BLE heart rate data. The strap's job is to hold the module in place and provide electrode contact — the module handles all wireless communication.
How often should I replace the strap?
It depends on usage and care. With regular washing and proper storage, a strap typically lasts 6–18 months of daily use. Signs it's time to replace: elastic doesn't hold tension, strap slips during workouts, electrode pads are visibly worn or discolored, or you're getting inconsistent readings despite moistening the pads.
Will this fit the HRM-Pro or HRM-Pro Plus?
No. The HRM-Pro and HRM-Pro Plus use a different attachment design (non-snap). For those modules, you need the Garmin HRM-Pro replacement strap (part number 010-12961-00). This strap only fits snap-on modules: HRM 200, HRM 600, and HRM-Dual.
Can I use electrode gel with this strap?
Yes. Applying a small amount of electrode gel or simply moistening the electrode pads with water before wearing improves conductivity and gives more reliable readings, especially in dry or cold conditions. This is recommended by Garmin for all chest strap heart rate monitors.
