Garmin quatix 7 Standard Edition Marine GPS Smartwatch
The quatix 7 Standard Edition is a marine-focused GPS smartwatch built on the fēnix 7 platform with full chartplotter connectivity, autopilot control, boat data streaming, sail racing tools, and up to 18 days of battery life. A rugged companion for life on and off the water.
Our Take: The quatix 7 Standard is the most affordable entry into Garmin's marine smartwatch lineup. It gives you the full suite of boat connectivity features — autopilot control, data streaming, Fusion audio, anchor and tide alerts, waypoint marking, and sail racing tools — in a rugged 47 mm package with an 18-day battery. Where it holds back compared to newer models is the display (MIP instead of AMOLED), the lack of a speaker/microphone (no voice commands or phone calls), and the absence of a dive rating or LED flashlight. If those features matter to you, step up to the quatix 8 AMOLED or quatix 8 Pro. But if you want proven marine connectivity at a price that won't make you seasick, this is the watch.
Why you'd choose this model
- The longest battery life in the quatix lineup — up to 18 days in smartwatch mode and 57 hours in GPS mode, so you can leave the charger at the dock for extended trips.
- Stream boat data, control autopilot and Fusion audio, place waypoints, and get anchor drag and tide change alerts — all from your wrist via compatible Garmin marine devices.
- Dual-frequency satellite support (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo) with SatIQ, plus a barometric altimeter, compass, and thermometer for precise navigation on water and land.
- Tack assist, virtual starting line, regatta timer, and race start guidance help competitive sailors optimize their strategy and timing.
- Both a responsive touchscreen and five traditional buttons give you flexible control — buttons work reliably in wet conditions, touchscreen is faster for menus and maps.
- Supports premier coastal charts with Navionics data (sold separately), LakeVu g3 inland maps, downloadable TopoActive maps, and 42,000+ golf course maps.
- Wrist-based heart rate, Pulse Ox, stress tracking, Body Battery energy monitoring, advanced sleep scoring, and respiration tracking keep you aware of your wellness around the clock.
- Contactless NFC payments and 16 GB of storage for offline playlists from Spotify, Amazon Music, and Deezer — no phone needed for payments or music.

quatix® 7 — Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the quatix 7 and the quatix 8?
The quatix 8 AMOLED is a major upgrade over the quatix 7 Standard. It adds a vibrant 1.4-inch AMOLED display (vs. 1.3-inch MIP), a built-in speaker and microphone for chartplotter voice control and phone calls, leakproof metal buttons, dive rating to 40 meters (EN 13319), an LED flashlight with red safety mode, the Elevate Gen 5 heart rate sensor with ECG, and a titanium bezel. The quatix 8 also has 32 GB of storage (vs. 16 GB) and 100+ sport profiles (vs. 30+). The tradeoff is shorter battery life (16 days vs. 18 days in smartwatch mode) and a higher price ($1,199.99 vs. $599.99).
Does the quatix 7 have a touchscreen?
Yes. The quatix 7 Standard Edition features both traditional five-button controls and a responsive touchscreen interface. You can use whichever input method you prefer, or combine both. Buttons work reliably in wet conditions, while the touchscreen makes scrolling through menus and maps faster.
Can the quatix 7 control my Garmin chartplotter and autopilot?
Yes. The quatix 7 connects to compatible Garmin chartplotters via Bluetooth and can remotely control autopilot heading, pattern steering, and GPS routes. It also streams boat data (depth, RPM, wind, speed) to the watch, controls Fusion audio systems, and places waypoints directly from your wrist. You also get anchor drag and tide change alerts.
Is the quatix 7 suitable for diving?
The quatix 7 Standard is water-rated to 10 ATM (100 meters), which is suitable for swimming, snorkeling, and surface watersports. However, it is not dive-rated and does not carry the EN 13319 dive certification. For scuba and apnea diving with depth logging and ascent rate alerts, consider the quatix 8 AMOLED, which is dive-rated to 40 meters with leakproof buttons and a sensor guard.
Does the quatix 7 support music playback?
Yes. The quatix 7 Standard has 16 GB of internal storage and supports offline music from Spotify, Amazon Music, and Deezer. You can download playlists to the watch and listen through paired Bluetooth headphones without your phone. Note that the watch does not have a built-in speaker.
Should I buy the quatix 7 or upgrade to the quatix 8?
The quatix 8 AMOLED is a significant upgrade: it adds a bright 1.4-inch AMOLED display, built-in speaker and microphone for chartplotter voice control and phone calls, leakproof metal buttons, dive rating to 40 meters, LED flashlight, Elevate Gen 5 HR with ECG, and a titanium bezel. If you want the latest marine technology, the quatix 8 at $1,199.99 is the better choice. If you want a reliable marine smartwatch at a lower price with the longest battery life in the quatix lineup (18 days), the quatix 7 Standard at $599.99 is a strong value.
What size bands does the quatix 7 use?
The quatix 7 Standard uses 22 mm QuickFit bands, compatible with the full range of Garmin QuickFit 22 mm accessories including silicone, nylon, leather, and titanium options. The included Captain Blue silicone band fits wrist circumferences from approximately 125 mm to 208 mm.
