The original Thermophore Automatic Moist Heat Pack is designed with a special hand-held switch. Just press for heat, release to cool and alternate as often as you like. If you happen to doze off and your hand relaxes, the unit will cool as a safety feature.

Almost two times the size of most standard heating pads, the Thermophore Moist Heat Pad provides an area of heat therapy large enough to cover the entire spine, the length of a hip and leg, or both shoulders. Help relieve pain and relax all associated muscles.

I had one of your

I had one of your these same heating pads for almost 20 years!
Only reason I had to get rid of it was because part of the cord came apart from natural wear, I assume.
This is a great product.

I hate this

I have a different version of this product which I love. My bad, either it's changed or I ordered the wrong one...but if you have arthritis and are using a heating pad, you don't want to have to hold down the switch the entire time you are using it. My thumb is now in agony in addition to my other aches and pains. Don't know if the other one which has a choice of temperature with a simple switch and also has automatic shutoff is available, but don't get this one. It is a total waste of money and these things aren't cheap.
