Heart Rate

Heart rate, or heart pulse, is the speed of the heartbeat measured by the number of poundings of the heart per unit of time, usually measured by beats per minute (bpm). The heart rate can vary according to the body's physical needs, including the need to absorb oxygen and excrete carbon dioxide. Your heart rate can be monitored using various devices, from heart rate monitors worn on your wrist, to phone apps, to personal-professional blood pressure monitors. If you get a reading that seems off, consult with your physician.
