This basic step-counting device tracks steps and distance. Customers praise its simplicity and affordability, with some finding it "very accurate" and "perfect" for daily walking goals. However, many report significant accuracy issues, with steps severely undercounted or not registered at all. Multiple shoppers experienced units failing within days or arriving non-functional. Build quality concerns include buttons falling out and clips detaching easily.

Does not work

I programmed this as directed, but it does not count steps accurately AT ALL. I walked in a county park for most of 2.5 hrs yesterday, and this counted 145 steps.

Sportline 340 thumbs down

We purchased 25 for our school staff. The pedometer is poorly constructed, several literally fell apart after 2 days of usage, some registered over the miles and some measured extremely under the miles. We measured 1 mile in a car and several of us walked that 1 miles distance; here are the results of 3 people: 2.6 miles~0.56 miles~1.7 miles. Extremely inconsistent and extremely disappointed.

A solid pedometer that monitors

A solid pedometer that monitors my steps well. The step count isn't as accurate as some other pedometers I've used (on the low side), but it's close. The packaging was fine, as was the fast shipping. I've had this specific pedometer several times, and I've been happy with it each time.

The buttons fell out one by one in the first week! We much preferred the older Sportline model before this one!

It was a complete waste

It was a complete waste of money. I threw it out. It didn't do any counting of steps. It was impossible to read, as well, with a very bad screen.

Pedometers make you want to move

Great for monitoring steps and movement. I really like my sportline and I wish this brand could be picked up and continued.

I've been using the Sportline 340 pedometers for about 15 years. All I need is the number of steps I walk each day. I try to make 10,000 or more and this inexpensive devise is perfect. If I lose it, no big deal because they are very reasonably priced. That is why I always but 4 or 5 at a time.

Perfect!!

This is the best Pedometer I have ever found and so inexpensive too! I walk very smoothly so most pedometers don't pick up on all my steps. This one does and is by far is the best one I've ever used!
These are so inexpensive, the company ships fast and I am overall very pleased!

Don't buy

I should not have given this pedometer one star it deserves no stars. I bought 2 of them and one didn't work when I received it and the other one didn't work well at all. So I would never buy another one. I finally found my old one and come to find out this one is the same name brand so apparently they are just not being made as good as they use to. The one I am now using must be 5 to 10 years old.

Private Person

I purchased 10 of you pedometers (Sportline 340) and I have tried 3 of them and none of them work at all or with no degree of accuracy. Walk 100 steps and it might show 25 on the register. I Have used the GoWalking by sportline for years and have loved it. Unfortunately I can no longer find them to purchase and had hoped you are selling an equally fine product but what you sent me is useless. Sincerely Tom Lynch 2017878506

Perdometers

The product was not very accurate with counting footsteps. It would pick up simple movements that weren't steps and also wouldn't pick up actual steps.

Very disappointed/

We purchased 79 of them for our office staff and over 50 of them do not work appropriately. I know they are not going to be completely accurate but when someone walks around the office quite a bit and it only gives you less than 500 steps for the day, something is not right. Most of the employees are very unhappy with them.

Good for the money

For the price, it is a good product. I bought a bulk quantity for a step-challenge at my office. I definitely feel like it is not as accurate as my personal Fit-bit, but it does the job. There were two that didn't work right out of the box and once I paid for shipping back to the company, they did send me a replacement pretty quickly.

I love it! No fuss. No muss! just what I want to know.

I love it! No fuss! No muss! It just tells me what I want to know. and it is small, and does not fall off since i use that halter.

Sportline Go Walking 340 Pedometer

Good value for walkers if you wish a simple gadget to measure distance and/or steps only. My previous 340 had a better clip-on. This model has a different clip-on with a spring that fastens over your belt. Unfortunately, it tends to fall off. I already lost one. Also, sometimes the mode changes from miles to steps without my knowledge unless I'm accidentally hitting the button.

Not accurate

I have the same issue as another customer mentioned... It's not accurate, and therefor useless to me. Not sure if it's a one in so many that is useless or what...
