Stylish and Waterproof
The Charge 3, in terms of look and style, has a certain je ne sais quoi to it in terms of understated elegance. The watch we had was the black/graphite aluminum. It really was your classic, hard-to-outclass, black little ‘number’. It would never be out-of-place whether it be a formal or informal setting. With the analog, white-on-black clock face, it looked très chic. I have only seen pictures of the rose/gold version, but that looks pretty impressive too.
Fitbit and third-party vendors offer a wide selection of alternate bands ranging from premium leather to very comfortable looking fabric woven bands. There are also highly ventilated sports bands that would make this already light watch even more featherweight.
The watch face can be easily customized from the Fitbit APP and you can choose between analog and digital themes. The monochrome touchscreen is bright and responsive – and you have the option of having it turn black when not in use. You can scroll through the various screens by just flicking your finger. There is also a button on the left side for instant access. Fitbit has done a nice job, overall, with the screen.
The Charge 3 is definitely waterproof – up to 50 meters of depth to boot. This means it has a ‘5 ATM’ water resistance rating. That is good a watch of this type. You most certainly can swim with it and it will track your pool swims in terms of distance and pace. It is meant to be worn in the shower. So, do not worry about this watch and water, unless you are an active scuba diver.
The takeaway here is that the Fitbit Charge 3 also scores well when it comes to style and wearability. It is elegant, light, customizable, waterproof and has a long, multi-day battery life. Yet again it will not disappoint and if gifted, will reflect not fail to impress.
