Designed with the light trekker in mind. This is our most advanced women’s air channel pad.
Features
Women’s specific model uses Bio-Mapped insulation in the foot area to ensure increased warmth.
Taking advantage of heat reflecting fabrics we us Radiant Heat Return (R.H.R.) technology to increase the R-value by 10% to keep you warmer overnight.
Environmentally conscious recycled P.E.T. 33 denier diamond ripstop nylon fabric is both superlight and abrasion resistant.
Insulated Bio-Mapping improves thermal efficiency while keeping pack size and weight to a minimum.
Thick central air core channels for ultimate comfort.
Three inch outer tubes are larger than the core channels keeping you sleeping comfortably on the pad through the night.
Compression strap, repair kit, and stuff sack included.
Made for temperatures as cold as 15F (-9C). These pads are perfect for a trip down the river in spring or going over that mountain pass in the summer.

Material
33 denier DRS nylon: This fabric is superlight but yet very durable compared to its weight. Similar in weight to many sil-nylons that are used in the outdoor market, but in place of a sil coating we use an airtight polyurethane. The polyurethane gives us the ability to create a long lasting bond and water resistance. This nylon also incorporates a diamond ripstop weave which helps deflect sharp points from puncturing the material.
Radiant Heat Return
Radiant Heat Return (R.H.R.) is a technology that we use on our sleeping pads. This is where the heat from the users body is actually reflected back towards them instead of being lost into the ground.
RHR coatings do not provide the same kind of “insulating” qualities that more common insulations would. RHR insulation works best when there is minimal dead space, or open air (0.25”-3”), between a person who is emitting the radiant heat and the reflective layer. Any material in between this would reduce the effectiveness. Radiant heat waves are similar to those of light waves in that they are more readily captured by darker colors of the spectrum.
By using this technology we have been able to increase the r-value of our pads using this by as much as 10%. This is a great way to make a pad that keeps its user warm while remaining ultra light. Bio-Mapped Insulation
Bio-mapped insulation is a technique that Hyalite Equipment incorporates into our sleeping pad design. By taking advantage of this construction we are able to create pads that are lighter weight and pack smaller but have great insulating qualities.
This is a technique where the insulation is strategically placed in the most important areas of the sleeping pad to maximize its value. In places where insulation is not as important it is decreased which allows for lighter weight and a smaller pack size.
We test r-value on our sleeping pads from head to toe so they perform well in the conditions that they are designed for. You will see that we display a range of r-values for several of our pads. The range in r-value is due to the Bio-mapped insulation techniques.
For women specific pads extra steps are taken in the Bio-mapping process. More support in the hip area and insulation in the foot area. We do this because it has been proven that women loose more heat from their extremities.
Women's Specific Design
The importance of a women’s specific pad is not in the length, but in the support and insulation. Our women’s specific pads take advantage of foam manipulation to allow for these needs. From our own testing and that of Elizabeth McCullough, Ph.D. at K State, we have designed sleeping pads with more insulation in the extremities as it has been proven women loose heat more quickly than men in these areas. Also as a result of testing we have found that increase hip support allows for a more comfortable nights sleep. Because of these things our women’s pads are similar weights to our regular pads despite being shorter.
