Every mile matters. And now there’s a stylishly simple way to capture each one. Forerunner 10 is a GPS running watch that tracks your distance, speed/pace and calories. It also identifies your personal records and provides motivation along the way.

It Fits
It’s our lightest, most comfortable watch yet and is available in sporty green, pink, or black with red accents. The black and red model has a slightly larger watch face and wider wristband. All models can be worn as a regular watch, so your running partner is always on hand.

Motivating Feedback
As you run, Forerunner 10 automatically alerts you when you complete each mile, giving you a friendly beep and a screen that flashes your time for that mile. When you complete your run and save it, you’ll see a summary of how you did, including your total time, distance, average pace and calories. The watch even lets you know when you achieve a personal record, like your fastest mile or longest run to date.

Training Tools
For runners who want a little more, Forerunner 10 has a couple of simple training features like Virtual Pacer, which compares your current running pace to your target. It also has a run/walk feature that’s helpful if you’re just starting out or your running plan includes walk breaks.

Store and Share
With a simple connection to your Mac or PC, you can upload your runs to Garmin Connect™ to see your run on a map, get more detail on each mile and share it with friends — all for free. You’ll be even more motivated when you see your miles add up in Garmin Connect and can go back and see how you’ve improved from last week, last month or last year.

Forerunner 10 Product Update
Garmin is excited to announce the the Forerunner 10 GPS running watch is more customizable than ever and now provides Lap Pace, Average Pace, Lap Speed, and Average Speed data. These new features are available on new production units and as a free software update at GarminConnect.com for units already on the market. When your run's done, upload to Garmin Connect to see your run on a map, get more detail on each mile and share it with friends for free. Every mile matters and now there's a simpler way to capture each one.

The most important thing to understand about these new watches are that they are entry level. These will not have some features that are in higher level watches. These new watches should be something you move up to from a regular watch or into with the lower price point. It is not meant to be a watch someone moves down from a model like the Forerunner 210 (unless of course they are not interested in the additional features of the 210).

Features:

• The black sku is currently the smallest GPS watch on the market. The pink and green skus are even smaller making them the first GPS watches that not only have more feminine colors for the women but also smaller sizes. (We are not calling the black watch men’s or the green and pink women’s since there will be women who like the black and men that like the green. )
• Simple to use GPS watch with 2 screens of 2 customizable fields (The fields that can be chosen from are Distance, Pace, Time and Calories only)
• 5 week battery life in watch mode and 5 hours in GPS mode
• Run/Walk Alert : Setup how many minutes you want to run, how many minutes you want to walk, turn this feature on and you will be alerted throughout every run.
• Virtual Pacer : This should not be confused with Virtual Partner or Virtual Racer. The simplest way to describe it is a watered down version of the Virtual Partner
• Auto Pause : If this feature is turned on, when you come to a stop the watch will be paused (the same as when you hit stop) and when you start back up it will start again. This is best used when you are running in a city where you may be stopping at many intersections.
• Auto Lap : This can be set to 1 mile or 1 KM or turned off completely.
• Waterproof to 50M : Although you can swim with this watch, it will not give you any swim data other than time.

** There seems to be this misconception that Garmin non-waterproof watches cannot get wet. This is not true. They can be used in the rain and shower and although can be submerged for 1 meter for up to 30 minutes, we do not recommend swimming with them. We like to compare these to your car. You can bring it to the car wash but you shouldn’t drive it in the lake.


• Current Pace : With new hardware and new software, this watch has the most accurate current pace on the market. (You will not have a choice of average or lap pace with this watch)
• If there is a new feature or fix, you can update the watch with that new software.
• With the request for smaller and smaller GPS watches, the black watch comes in as the smallest on the market with the pink and green being even smaller.

So what do you not get with the new Forerunner 10 that you do get with the 210? You do not get any of the features below with the Forerunner 10:

• Heart Rate (So no HR alerts or zones)
• Foot Pod (So no indoor distance/pace or cadence)
• Intervals
• Less battery life (5 hours in training mode compared to 8 hours. If you are looking for a watch for a marathon and is around a 5 hour marathoner or slower than the Forerunner 10 is not the right watch)
• AC wall adaptor. The Forerunner 10 needs to be charged either through the USB port on a computer or with a separate AC wall adaptor not included. - Compatibility with gym equipment
• 3 fields per screen (compared to 2 on the Forerunner 10)

Our running watches fall into good, better best with the 10 being good, the 210 being better and the 610 being best.

**There are other entry level GPS watches currently out in the market ($99). Some major differences between the Forerunner 10 and these competitors are: - Just like with all of our other watches, the Forerunner 10 can upload activities to Garmin Connect.
