How do I use the Breathometer device correctly?
It is very easy to use, just open the Breathometer mobile app on your smartphone, plug the Breathometer device into the audio jack of the smartphone and when prompted, blow for 5 seconds directly at the LED illuminated hole. Breathometer will do the rest.

How do I know Breathometer is accurate?
Breathometer is an FDA registered device that has undergone rigorous government lab grade testing (Guth Labs) to ensure its accuracy of ±.01% BAC. We also have designed Breathometer with high quality components including an FDA grade ethanol sensor. Lastly, we have provided clear instructions in the mobile app and instruction manual to ensure that one operates Breathometer correctly.
Do I need to replace the battery?
The Breathometer device is shipped to you with an AAA battery in the device. You should be able to get approximately 75 (BAC) tests with one AAA battery before you replace it.
How do I replace the battery?
There is a small hinge on the end of the device that will open, then just place the battery in the device.
Is it safe to share with friends?
The Breathometer device is safe to share with your friends. But that is up to each individual user of Breathometer. The Breathometer App lets you select if you are testing for yourself or letting a friend test — this lets you keep the results separate in your activity log.
How does the device know my blood alcohol concentration (BAC) levels without taking a blood sample?
We are able to measure your blood alcohol concentration just like other devices on the market. To be specific-The ratio of breath alcohol to blood alcohol is approximately 2,100:1. This means that 2,100 mL of alveolar air contains the same amount of alcohol as 1 ml of blood. Using this ratio, measurements from the breath can be used to calculate a respective level of intoxication.
Where can I store the Breathometer device when I receive it?
Because of the small size of the Breathometer device it can be stored in a multitude of places. We would suggest that you carry it on your person, we have provided a keyring hole for you to easily carry it in a pocket, purse or on your keyring.
What if the Breathometer gets wet? Will it still work?
The Breathometer device is a hardware device like a cell phone so you should keep it safe and dry at all times. If it does get wet and no longer functions correctly, please contact customer service.
How long do I need to blow into the Breathometer device to get an accurate BAC level reading?
Breathometer suggests at that you should blow into the device for 5 seconds or longer for an accurate BAC level reading. Also, make sure the battery does not need to be replaced, which is indicated to you through the app. Another good tip which is on the start screen before you initiate a test is to wait 20 minutes after finishing your last alcoholic beverage.
What does BAC stand for?
BAC is an acronym which can stand for Blood Alcohol Concentration or Blood Alcohol Content. These are the most commonly used terms to measure alcohol intoxication.
What if I don't drink? Do I need Breathometer?
Breathometer is not only for your safety but it can be used to help friends and family make more informed decisions.
I just had a drink, when should I conduct another BAC reading?
We ask you to wait at least 20 minutes after having your last drink.
What is the age limit to own a Breathometer device?
None. We don’t ever encourage drinking and driving at any age.
What if I drop the Breathometer device?
We have made the Breathometer device durable for our customers, but if you were to drop it and it will not work correctly please contact customer service and we will help.
Will there be any maintenance I will need to do with the Breathometer device?
Like other breathalyzers, Breathometer will require calibration to ensure high-quality accuracy. Calibration is needed approximately every 250 tests. We will have a simple service so that you can send back your device and a calibrated unit will quickly be sent back to you. The Breathometer app tracks how frequently your device has been used, so we will let you know when calibration may be needed soon! For more information, please contact customer service.
How many uses can I expect before I need to replace the battery in the Breathometer device?

You will have complete control of all your personal information once you register with the Breathometer mobile app. To turn BAC data storage on, or off, login into the app, go to Settings and toggle on "Store BAC Readings"
