Watch Results
Continuously monitors your time, distance, pace, calories and heart rate (when paired with heart rate monitor). Each run is stored in memory so you can review and analyze the data to see how you've improved. You can even download recorded courses to compete against previous workouts or
race a Virtual Partner. Customize Forerunner's data screens for instant feedback while you train.
Use with Ease
Sport watch and personal trainer — Forerunner 405 gives you the best of both worlds in a sleek, stylish package. This high performance watch is easy to use and comfortable to wear when not training. Simply tap the touch bezel to change screens without fumbling for a button.
Run, Sync, Store and Share
Once you've logged the miles, innovative ANT+Sport™ wireless technology automatically transfers data to your computer when the Forerunner is in range. No cables, no hookups. The data's just there, ready for you to analyze, categorize and share through our online community, Garmin Connect or our optional Garmin Training Center software. You can wirelessly send workouts from your computer to Forerunner, too.
Share Wirelessly
With Forerunner 405 you can share your locations, advanced workouts and courses wirelessly with other Forerunner 405 users. Now you can send your favorite workout to your buddy to try, or compete against a friend's recorded course. Sharing data is easy. Just select "transfer" to send your information to nearby units.
Track Heart Rate by adding a Heart Rate Monitor
With a digital heart rate monitor continuously track heart
beats per minute. Train in a certain heart rate zone to improve your fitness level or compare your pace and heart rate to past performance on the same run.
Cross-Train
Take your training inside with the versatile Forerunner 405. Pair it with an optional foot pod to track your speed, distance and running cadence indoors when a GPS signal is unavailable. This new design clips onto your laces for easy removal and automatically turns on when you start moving. You can also add a speed/cadence bike sensor to track the speed and distance of your cycling workouts.
Lock Onto Satellite Signals
Forerunner 405 sports a unique design that gives the GPS antenna a better view of the sky, so it can get a stronger signal during your run. And its high-sensitivity GPS receiver provides improved tracking under trees and near tall buildings. Forerunner 405: Accelerate your training. |
GARMIN TRAINING CENTER
Whether you want to set a PR in your next 10K or you're gearing up for your first century ride, you've got to train consistently. Now there's a tool to help you every step of the way: Garmin Training Center software, available for PC or Mac computers (see compatibility below).
What is Garmin Training Center (GTC)?
Garmin Training Center (GTC) is a training tool for your computer that works with your compatible Garmin fitness device. With GTC, you can analyze and store workout data from your Garmin device on your computer, as well as plan and save future workouts. GTC is included when you purchase a compatible Garmin fitness device. You can also
download the latest version of Garmin Training Center for free.
Compatible Garmin devices:
Forerunner 50 (PC Only),
Forerunner 201 (PC Only),
Forerunner 301,
Forerunner 205,

Compatible computers:

How can GTC improve my training?
You'll benefit from GTC in two primary ways: it helps you analyze workouts you've already completed, and it helps you plan workouts for the future. Your Garmin fitness product records an incredible amount of data from your workout or activity. Garmin Training Center saves this data and helps you review and analyze it. You can also create, save and schedule workouts and transfer them to your fitness device.
Review your workout data, including pace/speed, distance, time, calories burned; and if available, heart rate, cadence and detailed elevation.
View a detailed graph of your workout data in GTC, plotted over time or distance.
View a map of your workout that shows the exact path you traveled. (Maps are not available with Forerunner 50 activities.)
Categorize your workout history according to type of activity.
Review previous workouts, which are saved by day and week.
Create customized workouts with specific goals and rest intervals. Then send them to your fitness device (Forerunner 201 cannot load workouts from GTC).
Schedule workouts for a specific day with GTC's calendar. GTC even comes with several workout templates designed by the experts at TrainingPeaks.com. TrainingPeaks provides custom training plans for
beginning, intermediate and advanced athletes training for all types of events. |
