A manual is provided in your product, but here are some additional instructions:
Getting ready:
Avoid eating, smoking, and exercising for at least 30 minutes before taking a measurement.
Avoid taking measurements during stressful times. Stress raises blood pressure.
Measurements should be taken in a
quiet place. You should be in a relaxed, seated position, with your feet flat on the floor.
Remain still and do not talk during the measurements.
Rest comfortably in a relaxed environment for at least 15 minutes before you take a blood pressure measurement.
Keep a record of your blood pressure and pulse for your doctor. A single measurement does not provide an accurate indication of your true blood pressure. You need to take and record several readings over a period of time. Try to measure your blood pressure at the same time each day in a similar environment for consistency.
Wait 2-3 minutes before taking another blood pressure measurement. You may require more rest time between readings depending on your individual physiological characteristics.
Inserting the battery:

Position the unit so battery cover faces upward. Push down the indent portion and slide off the battery cover.

Insert the 2 AAA batteries making sure the positive and negative polarities match the polarities shown in the battery compartment.
When you need to replace the batteries in your unit, remove and replace all of the batteries at the same time. We always recommend long-life alkaline batteries for best performance.

Replace the battery cover.
Applying the wrist cuff:

Place the cuff over your left wrist with your left thumb facing upward.

Position the unit leaving approximately 1/2 inch of space between the edge of the cuff and your palm.

Pull the cuff upward while holding the edge of the wrist cuff and wrap snugly.

Lightly press the Velcro closure with your fingers so that is is fastened tightly.
Obtaining a reading:
Press the Start/Stop button.

The position sensor screen appears on the display.

Use your elbow as an axis point. Slowly raise your left hand at an angle towards your right shoulder. Stop your movement when the heart icon is aligned with the arrow symbol. When your wrist reaches the proper position, the monitor beeps and automatically starts inflation and measurement.
Note: It is recommended that persons with severe hypertension, severe diabetes, or severe arteriosclerosis consult their physician prior to measuring blood pressure at the wrist.
